Hi again!

I completley forgot about my blog! I was just changing a few things on my twitter account, and voila! I see a link for my blog! Wow! :) So, someone give me some ideas to blog about!

Burdens to Share

This was inspired by an overheard conversation.

“Here I am Lord,

all alone

in this church

I call my home.

My soul’s uplifted,

I feel anew;

But right now,

my heart’s in two.

No one asks,

no one cares.

I have nobody

my burdens to share.”

This is the cry

of many a saint

sitting on pews

with masks they paint.

No one asks,

no one cares.

They have nobody

their burdens to share.

Give us Lord

a loving heart.

Our Christian duty

let us not depart.

Help us to find

these hurting souls,

and help us erase

their pains and woes.

Sometimes our saints

get lost in the crowd.

We let life

get a little too loud.

So help us to ask,

guide us to care,

so we all have somebody

our burdens to share.

Freedom Isn’t Free

Freedom isn’t free. We’ve all heard that, we all know it to be true. In order for us to have the freedoms we do, someone has to pay a price. Those someones are our soldiers. They pay the full price. I am unbelievably thankful for them, and their families, for their tremendous sacrifice. This poem I wrote is dedicated to you.

Firecrackers in the skies,

bursts of color before our eyes,

celebrations everywhere why?

Our soldiers, who both live and die.

Parties, picnics, food galore,

hotdogs, watermelon, and more!

Time with family we adore,

because of our soldiers, brave to their core.

Freedom to worship, freedom to pray,

freedom to be whatever we may,

a home and pillow our head to lay,

because of the price our soldiers pay.

God bless every woman and man

who serve our country the best they can.

Troubles in life, from them please ban,

and bless them Lord with all you can.

What Has Jesus Saved You From?

Klove is doing a thing where you post a picture of you holding a sign proclaiming what Jesus has saved you from. Since I can’t write just one thing and win, I figured I’d share with all my fellow bloggers what Jesus has saved me from. Feel free to add!

1. Eternity in Hell (I cry everytime I think of what he had to do to save me from this. “Oh how I love him, How I adore him!”)

2. Feelings of inferiority

3. From all sorts of bad diagnosis from the doctors over the years

4. From appendicidis (not sure how to spell that) twice!

5.  While I can’t say Jesus saved me from alcohol or drugs, I CAN say he KEPT me from those things! He saved me from ever having to say he saved me from those.

6. From bitterness

7. From walking in the dark

8. From desire to leave his side

9. From bitterness

10. From insecurity

And so very much more. I’m so thankful for all that God’s done in my life and all he’s going to do. Everytime I hit a bump in the road, I just think “Hey. He’s brought me this far. He’s not going to leave me now!” Thank you Lord!

Body Image

I wouldn’t call myself beautiful by any means. However, I wouldn’t call myself ugly either. Does this make me conceited? I don’t think so. Here are a few stastics, and my thoughts on them.

1. 2 out of 5 women and 1 out of 5 men would trade 3 to 5 years of their lives to reach their weight loss goal. How sad. Sure, I’d like to be small again, but really? 5 more years fat and happy surrounded by those I love versus 5 years cut short being skinny? Hmmm….I choose the former!

2. 42% of elementary school children between 1st and 3rd grade want to be thinner. That’s crazy! All those precious darlings should be worried about is if their baby doll’s hair is cuter in pigtails, or a ponytail. We are ruining our children!

3. 8 out of 10 women hate their reflections. This is getting sadder and sadder! No wonder our world is a crazy, hateful place! How can we expect to love and accept others when we don’t do it for ourselves?

4. 65% of teenage girls are more afraid of becoming overweight than they are of nuclear war, cancer, or losing their parents. We are teaching these girls wrong! This is crazy! We want a better world. Politicians harp on it all the time. “Feed the hungry! World peace!” That’s all good and well, but to help others, we must help ourselves! We can’t change the world until we first change ourselves. How can we help others, uplift those in need, if we constantly have ourselves “down in the dumps?

Psalms 139:14 says “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” God made us all. By downing ourselves, by hating ourselves, we are saying God didn’t do a good job. God doesn’t mess up. He made you you. Be happy for you are instead of angry for what you aren’t.
